Hawzah News Agency- Citing Middle East Eye, David Hearst, the editor‑in‑chief of the website, has declared in a decisive analysis that the recent US‑Israeli war against Iran has ended in a heavy defeat for Washington and Tel Aviv.
The author writes: “The US and Israel launched a war to destroy Iran's nuclear program, overthrow its government, and end its regional influence. They achieved none of those objectives. Instead, Iran emerged stronger, more defiant, and more entrenched''.
According to Hearst, Iran now has full control of the Strait of Hormuz, has demonstrated its missile and drone capabilities by striking US bases and Israeli targets, has deepened its alliances with China and Russia, and has consolidated its network of resistance forces in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine.
Hearst emphasizes: “Trump and Netanyahu falsely believed that the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei would cause the immediate collapse of Iran’s system. Instead, Iranians rallied behind their new leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei, and the armed forces inflicted heavy losses on the aggressors''.
The analyst believes the war has also exposed the limits of US power: “The US could not protect its own bases, could not keep the Strait open, and could not prevent China from backfilling Iran’s economy. Europe watched in horror as energy prices skyrocketed''.
The author concludes: “Now Trump and Netanyahu face a reckoning. Trump’s re‑election campaign is in tatters, and Netanyahu’s coalition is collapsing. The new Middle East order is being written in Tehran, not Washington. The question is not whether the US and Israel will accept defeat, but how painful their retreat will be''.
