Hawzah News Agency- The Grand Mufti and head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Muslims of the Russian Federation Sheikh Ravil Ainuddin met with Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi at the Grand Mosque of Moscow, Russia.

In this meeting, which was attended by the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali, and a group of Shia and Sunni scholars, both sides discussed joint cooperation in the field of approximation of Islamic religions and the promotion of moderate interpretation of Islam based on logic and rationality of religion.

The head of the Council of Muftis and The Department of Religious Affairs of Russian Muslims asked the Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi to convey his warm regards to the supreme leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on behalf of Russian Muslims.

Sheikh Ravil Ainuddin once again expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of President Raisi, the late president of Iran and his companions, and further stated,” I congratulate the successful holding of free and democratic presidential elections in Iran.”

The grand mufti of Russia, while wishing success to the elected president, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed his hope that the new head of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, like the martyred president, will visit the grand mosque in Moscow and meet with Russian Muslims in his upcoming trip to Russia.
