Iran-India

The Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India emphasized the need to make maximum use of the commonalities and cultural interests between the people of Iran and India at different political, cultural, commercial, and religious levels.

Hawzah News Agency- Dr. Farid al-Din Farid Asr, in an interview with Hawzah News correspondent, emphasized that the cultural, and religious relations between Iran and India are long-standing, and stated that the relations between Iran and India date back to the pre-Islamic era and the early migrations of human nations, there have been land and sea trade relations between the Iranian and Indian nations.

Iran's cultural adviser in India said,” Iranians and Indians have always been influenced by each other. There is a common language root and many common rituals between these two countries. Even in the category of food, Iran and India are in the same category. Over the years, differences in various fields have occurred naturally.”

He said,” The issue that the younger generations in Iran and India should pay attention to is that there may be a geographical distance between Iran and India today, but until 75 years ago these two countries were neighbors and following the independence of Pakistan, the distance between two countries was created. These two countries were neighbors for centuries.”

Iran's cultural advisor in India further noted that for many years Iranian people looked at India as a refuge. It is not the case that some scholars and cultural and political figures who migrated to India were only for propaganda, but the political and security pressures were sometimes so great that these people being sheltered from the enemies, looked at India as their refuge and migrated to this country.

Iran's cultural adviser in India went on to say another issue is that Iranian people feel closer to Indians than other neighbors.

He said, Fortunately, there are many fields of religious, cultural and emotional connection between Iranians and Indians. The two nations share a common culture and must boost their mutual ties and communicate with each other.

Iran's cultural adviser in India stated that the relationship between Iran and India should be at the highest at the political and national levels and in cultural and commercial fields.
