Mufti of Oman

The Secretary-General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) met with Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili, the Mufti of Oman.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, who has traveled to Oman at the head of a delegation, met and talked with Sheikh Ahmad bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Mufti of Oman on Sunday, March 10.

In this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Shahriari welcomed the Mufti of Oman's positions in supporting the Palestinian people, confronting global arrogance and supporting the Yemeni people, and appreciated his efforts in creating unity between Islamic sects.

By inviting Sheikh Ahmad bin Hamad al-Khalili to attend the Islamic Unity Conference, he stated,” Today, the responsibility of our scholars has doubled, since some have become divided by deviating from Islam.”

Pointing to various areas for cooperation, including the exchange of Shia and Sunni clerical delegations, he added,” We have held several regional unity conferences and we suggest that such a conference be held in Oman.”

The Secretary General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) went on to explain the concept of freedom from Islamic point of view and stated,” Anything that does not agree with human conscience is not considered as freedom; Freedom must be bounded by divine limits, if it goes beyond it, it is an example of oppression.”

He added,” Freedom is an Islamic value; But today the thought of liberalism, which does not consider freedom as a border, has influenced the youth and they need a new definition on the concept of freedom.”

In a part of his speech, Hujjat al-Islam Shahriari introduced the "Encyclopedia of Ayatollah Taskhiri" which was published by the Research Institute of Approximate Studies of the Al-Karam Assembly, and pointed out that all the works of Ayatollah Taskhiri are collected in this encyclopedia, he said to the Mufti of Oman,” We suggest to create such an encyclopedia from your works in order to present it in an electronic version so that it is available to the Islamic world.”
