Hawzah News Agency – The Indexing and Information Systems Center of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, in cooperation with the Al-Kafeel Center for Information and Statistical Studies of the Media Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, organized an expanded symposium to explain and clarify the dimensions of its addition and its impact on the global map of sustainable development goals (SDG) at the Imam al-Hassan Hall (peace be upon him) at the Holy Shrine, in the presence of its Deputy Secretary-General, members of its board of directors, heads of departments and their assistants.
The first part of the symposium was presented by the Director of the Center for Cataloging and Information Systems and his assistant, and they touched on the importance of sustainable development, its goals and objectives, in addition to their review of the participation of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in conferences and workshops of the United Nations and the Iraqi Ministry of Planning.
The second part of this symposium, in which the Head of the Media Department, Dr. Mushtaq Abbas Maan and Director of the Al-Kafeel Center for Information and Statistical Studies, explained the percentage of the 17 goals and objectives of sustainable development achieved by the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine within a limited period as an example.
The seminar came out with several recommendations, the most important of which are:
- Calling for the formulation of a unified vision as a framework and roadmap for a project that includes all the sites and departments of the Holy Shrine, and allows merging its specificity with the goals and objectives of the Sustainable Development Plan for the year (2020-2030).
- Urging that more efforts be made to keep pace with the global development movement in the areas of sustainable development, through strategic plans and programs to be responsive to everyone's aspirations so as not to fall behind in development.
- Benefiting from the components and advantages available to it to achieve the sustainable development goals within a framework of follow-up, evaluation and accountability.
The symposium witnessed the presentation of a number of opinions, suggestions and inquiries by the attendees. And it is hoped that other symposiums and meetings will follow, to crystallize those ideas.
