Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi in a meeting with China Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua described strategic ties between Iran and China as rejecting US hegemony.

Hawzah News Agency – Vahidi appreciated China for its principled stance toward Iran in international organizations, its opposition to US sanctions, and its positive role in defending peaceful nuclear energy.

Iranian and Chinese officials are determined to develop all-out relations, he added.

Referring to the security cooperation between Iran and China in fighting transnational organized crime, he said: "We are ready to increase interaction in this field within the framework of security cooperation."

Given the capacity of the waste field in energy production; it can be the basis for other cooperation and transfer of knowledge and technology between the two countries, he noted.

He also pointed to experiences of the two countries in controlling and combating COVID19, and called for close interaction between Tehran and Beijing in this regard.

Emphasizing multilateral regional cooperation, he said that Iran, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan can define joint programs in various fields such as security and strategic issues.

He also called for developing Iran-China relations within the framework of 25-year agreement between the two countries, saying we are ready to establish relations between Iran and China."

Meanwhile, Chang Hua hoped for Vienna Talks success, saying: Whether or not US sanctions are lifted will not change the Chinese government's willingness to cooperate with Iran.

China's will to expand relations with Iran is unchangeable, he noted.

He described Iran as one of China's key partners in Belt and Road Initiative and offered China readiness to enhance cooperation with Iran.

He also referred to the signing of the 25-year cooperation agreement between Iran and China, saying: "The agreement, which was signed last year, includes economic, political, cultural, social and security fields."

Iran and China are strategic partners and cooperation between the two sides in the field of security and law enforcement is important.

Iran and China can cooperate with Afghanistan and Pakistan on various issues, he stated.

He emphasized the need for cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also stressed China close cooperation with Tehran Municipality in developing Tehran subway.
