Al-Ameed University concludes its International Conference for Medical Sciences

The activities of the al-Ameed Second International University Conference for Medical Sciences was concluded with the participation of 345 researches from inside and outside Iraq.

Hawzah News Agency –This afternoon, Thursday (12 Rabi’ Thani 1443 AH), corresponding to (November 18, 2021), the activities of the al-Ameed Second International University Conference for Medical Sciences was concluded.

The closing ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, preceded by the organization of a final discussion session in which the nine themes of the conference were presented, along with the objectives of each axis and the future plan for its development, which contributes to advancing the level of scientific research in the medical field.

This was followed by a speech of the Chairman of the Higher Committee supervising the conference and the President of the al-Ameed University, Prof. Mo'ayyed al-Ghazali, in which he stated: “At the conclusion of our two-day conference, we would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all the attendees, researchers and participants, for their efforts contributing to the success of our conference, as the presented research were three hundred and forty-five papers in various fields."

Then Prof. Dr. Maitham Hamid al-Qanbar, Assistant President of the al-Ameed University for Scientific Affairs, delivered the conference’s recommendations, which he began by saying: “It was necessary to come up with recommendations that are considered a road map to achieve the slogan of the conference for which it was held; by scientific research we rise to achieve a healthy and safe environment, hoping that the concerned authorities will take the necessary measures to achieve these recommendations.

As for the recommendations:

1- Adopting a well-studied scientific plan to support scientific research and nanotechnology and direct it towards community service, especially with regard to solving health and environmental problems specific to our beloved country, and in coordination between the relevant ministries and research centers.

2- Inviting the government agencies concerned with supporting the specialized centers for heart diseases and surgery for the sustainability and development of the distinguished services provided by these centers, which are no less than their counterparts in developed countries, as well as asking the concerned authorities to open specialized research centers in the field of cardiology.

3- Giving interest in spreading health awareness and urging the need to take vaccines for the Corona virus, through the media, seminars and others, and to provide laboratory materials and training to conduct the necessary genetic tests, to identify the strains and mutations of this epidemic in our society.

4- Adopting early detection and investigation programs for common malignant tumors in Iraq, strengthening oncology centers with the latest tests, diagnostic and treatment devices, and opening additional centers to accommodate the increasing numbers of different cancers, with an emphasis on establishing advanced research centers in the field of causes, prevention and treatment.

5- Supporting reproductive health and making it a priority for planning at the national level, drawing up development strategies and what this requires from establishing an integrated database for all governmental and civil institutions concerned with this issue, while spreading awareness of the success rates of assisted reproductive technologies in Iraq, as they are comparable to those in other developed countries as well as neighboring countries, in order to reduce the tendency to travel outside the country for this purpose, and the accompanying material losses and psychological pressures.

6- Emphasis on the active participation of doctors and researchers in local, regional and international conferences, in order to keep pace with scientific development in the field of dentistry and to translate it into educational and training curricula, for the purpose of improving the level of services provided to citizens.

7- Emphasizing the importance of clinical pharmacy and activating the role of the pharmacist in the medical and drug system, and relying on his experience in the field of treatment to avoid and reduce side effects and drug interactions, thus contributing to raising the quality of medical services.

8- Encouraging and revitalizing research related to the pharmaceutical industries in cooperation with pharmaceutical laboratories, in a way that covers the local need for safe and affordable medicines and treatments.

9- Coordination between the Committee of Deans of Nursing Faculties and the Ministry of Health, by employing the products of research based on scientific evidence, which contributes to the development of health care services.

It is noteworthy that the conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in cooperation with Al-Kafeel University, Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, and the Malaysian UKM University.
