Muslim Welfare Institute donates ipads to four Blackburn schools

The Muslim Welfare Institute (MWI) has helped to provide 20 ipads for school pupils in Blackburn.

Hawzah News Agency - Ten tablets costing £130 each and 10 costing £120 were donated to the MWI and paid for by anonymous donors.

They were then delivered to St Alban's Roman Catholic Primary School, Daisyfield Primary School and The Olive School and Rawdhatul Uloom school and will assist pupils working from home during the lockdown.

CEO Moulana Hanif Dudhwala said: “It was so pleasing to be able to do our little bit for the community by donating 20 tablets to four wonderful schools in our borough. It was the generosity and thoughtfulness of four of our regular donors who donated for five tablets each.

“It was very difficult to choose which four schools we should donate to, as all our primary schools do a fantastic job. We finally decided to donate to the three primary schools that fall within the remit of our new office which is located at Suite 301 in the Daisyfield Business Centre on Appleby Street.

“Olive school was specifically chosen by one of the donors saying: `it is an outstanding school, achieving amazing results throughout the country`. Hence his wish was to donate to Olive which we respected’.”
