Ayatollah Yazdi put his reputation, belongings on the line for serving Islamic Revolution: AQR custodian

Ayatollah Yazdi joined the fight against Pahlavi regime, putting all his reputation and belongings on the line for serving the Islamic Revolution’s sacred goals.

Hawzah News Agency - Following acquaintance with Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Yazdi joined the fight against Pahlavi regime, putting all his reputation and belongings on the line for serving the Islamic Revolution’s sacred goals. He became source of many services for the people and country, says Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, Astan Quds Razavi’s chief custodian in a message on the occasion of Ayatollah Yazdi’s departure.

Hoj. Marvi’s message follows:

We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

The news of the departure of Ayatollah Haj Sheikh Mohammad Yazdi, a prominent scholar of theology and an industrious scientist, made us very sad.

Spending all his lifetime for development of Islamic and Shia teachings, Ayatollah Yazdi was a salient student of Ayatollah Borujerdi and late Imam Khomeini (RA). The fruits of long years of his efforts, i.e. tens of books and valuable scientific works, have been left for his own students and great scientific figures.

Following his acquaintance with Imam Khomeini (RA), Ayatollah Yazdi joined the fight against dictatorial regime of Pahlavi and was repeatedly exiled and imprisoned. When Islamic Revolution came into victory, he put all his reputation, belongings as well as scientific and jurisprudential endeavors at the service of the Islamic movement. Serving as the Judiciary chief and chairing Assembly of Experts, membership in Guardian Council, and working as the head of Qom Seminary School have all been sources of great services he offered to the people and Islamic establishment.

Loss of this pious volunteer of faith and a sincere friend of Ayatollah Khamenei is a true example of the tradition that says: “When a scholar dies, an irreparable breach takes place in Islam which cannot be filled until the Day of Judgment”.

With a sad heart and from the vicinity of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, I offer my condolences on this great loss to Imam Mahdi (AS), Leader of Islamic Revolution, his honorable family, seminary schools and noble Iranian nation. I also ask God the best for the great deceased scholar.

AQR chief custodian

Ahmad Marvi
