"The threats in Iraq are not over yet"

Senior Shia cleric said, "You stayed true to your promise to defend genuine Islam. You resemble Imam Hussain's (as) companions on the Day of Ashura who sacrificed their lives for Islam and their Imam. / There are some hypocrites in disguise who pose a much greater threat to Iraq than ISIS terrorists do.

Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – In a meeting with groups of Iraqi popular mobilization forces and some family members of Iraqi martyrs, Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi remarked, "The popular mobilization forces are truly defending our religion, beliefs and sanctities in the battles against the enemy. Their brave actions and sacrifices are greatly appreciated by Muslim believers and considered as a holy deed."

 

Addressing the popular mobilization forces preset at the meeting, the Shia source of emulation added, "You stayed true to your promise to defend genuine Islam. You resemble Imam Hussain’s (as) companions on the Day of Ashura who sacrificed their lives for Islam and their Imam; therefore, your efforts will also be greatly rewarded by Allah almighty."

 

Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi further remarked, "The threats are not over yet, the road ahead is still challenging since there are some hypocrites in disguise who pose a much greater threat to Iraq than ISIS terrorists do. That’s why we must do our best in order to maintain the security and freedom of Iraq."
