Arrest warrant issued for man suspected in Alabama Mosque burglaries

A man authorities believe committed a series of burglaries at mosques across the US in February and March, including three in Alabama, is being sought by the Arizona Attorney General's office.

Hawzah News Agency (Albama, US) - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced an arrest warrant has been issued for Andrew Charles Chambers for his alleged involvement in the burglary of two mosques

located in Arizona.

In addition to Alabama, Chambers, 54, is also wanted in Virginia. Authorities are working to locate him. Brnovich said he may be operating under a variety of aliases, including Martin Andrew, Flint Frank, Andy

Chambers, Flint Franks, Steven Franks, Andrew Ghambers and Flint O'Neil.

Chambers is believed to have broken into three mosques in Alabama, two in Arizona and one in Virginia earlier this year.

Two Alabama mosques, in Gadsden and Anniston, were broken into March 10 and a Tuscaloosa mosque was burglarized on March 14.

Gadsden investigators at the time said the suspect, captured on surveillance video, appeared to be the same man who burglarized a mosque in Blacksburg, Va., on Feb. 25.

Arizona detectives said the photos matched the suspect from burglaries on March 30 in two cities. Donation boxes were taken in both cases.

Chambers faces charges in Arizona of burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and aggravated criminal damage.
