Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In a meeting with the members of Lady Masuma’s (sa) Arbaeen Mowkeb in his office in Qom, Senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani highlighted the importance of taking part in Arbaeen walk saying, “Throughout history, supporters of the righteous front have fought their battles through spiritual means whereas the infidels recourse to materialistic weapons and worldly powers.”

 The Shia source of emulation added, “According to Ahlulbayt’s (as) narrations, attending Arbaeen pilgrimage is a sign of being a true Ahlulbayt’s lover since all dictators and oppressive rulers in the past have tried to undermine Imam Hussain’s (as) uprising and the doctrine of Ahlulbayt (as).”

Pointing out the restrictions placed on Arbaeen pilgrimage in some countries, the Shia cleric asserted, “this year, Muslims from Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cannot take part in Arbaeen Walk; Last year, some Egyptians who attended the event were later interrogated by authorities upon returning to their country.”

The top cleric further reiterated that Arbaeen walk serves as a great way for Shia Muslims to pat respect to their beloved Imam Hussain (as);” Arbaeen pilgrimage is a great Shia parade which gains more and more attention and significance year by year, this is a symbol of genuine Islamic movement.”
