Hawzah News Agency (Shahroud, Iran) – Speaking at the gathering of seminary scholars in the Iranian city of Shahroud, head of Iran's seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi elaborated on the duties of seminary scholars mentioning three jurisprudential rules; "the first and foremost responsibility of a seminary scholar is to fight ignorance in society and to guide people."
"The second mission of a cleric is to advise those who are informed about their religious duties but do not follow through with actions. A cleric must encourage them to act on their beliefs."
According to Ayatollah Arafi, performing the Islamic tradition of "enjoining good and forbidding wrong" is considered as the third responsibility of clerics."
Asserting that today the Islamic Republic of Iran is serving as the center of divine Ahlulbayt's (as) teachings, the senior scholar added, "The Islamic Revolution of Iran began a movement in promoting Islam worldwide."
"As a result of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution, Ahlulbayt's (as) teachings are widely established in many countries around the world; In order to develop this movement, we need more knowledgeable scholars who are familiar with present conditions of the world and have a global attitude towards promoting Islam," Ayatollah Arafi concluded.
