“Great congregation of Hajj, key factor to unify Muslims” Iranian cleric

Iranian prayer leader from southern port city of Bandar Abbas stressed the important role of Hajj congregation in unifying the world of Islam calling the annual ritual as a mission. Also, prayer leader of Qeshm Island called Hajj pilgrimage as an opportunity to spread original Islamic thoughts.

Hawzah News Agency (Bandar Abbas, Iran) - A group of Iranian prayer leaders highlighted necessity of convergence and understanding as the grounds for solidarity and determination of Islamic nation during Hajj pilgrimage stressing the annual event as opportunity for boosting Islamic unity.

Ayatollah Gholam Ali Na’eem Abadi, representative of the Supreme Leader in Hormozgan Province, said," What widens the gap between Muslims is the receding relations between Muslims since it provides the enemies with opportunities to divide
Muslims while more meeting of the Islamic communities leads to resolving the disagreements."

He slammed the hostile efforts to misrepresent Shia and Sunni Islam to the world and said," When followers of different Islamic denominations stand together these plots are all foiled."

The cleric noted that taking the journey to Hajj from different countries will unveil the accusations against Shia and Sunni communities and said," Congregation of the unified Islamic nation in one spot, even if without building direct ties plays an
important role in safeguarding Islamic unity and clearing their friendly ties of accusations against their followers."

Also, Hujjat-ul-Islam Ahmad Gholami, prayer leader of Qeshm Island, in an interview with RASA News Agency called Hajj pilgrimage as an opportunity to spread original Islamic thoughts and said,” To foil hostile plots and building convergence among
Muslims from different denominations is a great advantage of Hajj.”

He referred to the current situation in the Middle East region and the world of Islam urging for more unity and vigilance of Muslims.

The cleric also stressed that Shia and Sunni pilgrims will convene in Hajj pilgrimage to perform their religious duties and clear their minds of negative views on each other, if there is any.

When asked if the annual Hajj pilgrimage could provide the grounds for unified Islamic nation he said," To highlight commonalities of different Islamic denominations plays an important role in boosting solidarity among Muslims and to note the
hostile plots by arrogant powers will inspire Muslims to take measures to foil them" stressing the role of Hajj as the time for creating and strengthening the ties.
