Hajj official: Saudis' warm welcoming to Iranian pilgrims token of commitment

Iran Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said on Monday that Saudis' warm welcoming and presenting flowers to the Iranian pilgrims is a sign of Saudi Arabia's commitment to the agreements.

Hawzah News Agency (Medina, Saudi Arabia)‌ - Ali Qazi-Asgar expressed hope that the Iranian pilgrims will perform their Hajj and return to the country safe and sound. 

The first convoy of Iranian pilgrims arrived at Medina Airport on Sunday and was welcomed by Iranian and Saudi Hajj authorities, including Minister of Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umra Muhammad Abdurrahman Bijavi, and Saudi youth with baskets of flowers and fresh dates.



Bijavi said he is happy to see Iranian pilgrims at Hajj again and hoped to see Iranians at Umra too. 

It was announced a few days ago that 86,500 Iranian pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia by 335 flights this year. 15,000 of Iranian pilgrim are Sunni Muslims. 



'The Iranian pilgrims' transport operation kicks off on July 31, and the last group of them will be back to Iran by September 25,” he added. 

Each year, in Hajj season, Iranians like other Muslims in the world go to Mecca to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
