Hawzah News Agency- The statement, titled “The Prophet of Mercy; A Beacon for Human Coexistence and Excellence,” conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of South Africa, whom it described as a “noble” and peace-loving nation.
The statement emphasized that, in Islamic thought, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is revered not only as a spiritual leader but also as a figure representing “Mercy to the Worlds” (Rahmat-lil-Alamin). It argued that his mission, viewed from the perspectives of political philosophy and social ethics, was grounded in rationality, human dignity and inclusive justice.
The Iranian diplomatic mission further highlighted the relevance of these principles to South Africa’s multicultural society, stressing the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding in a world facing growing social and cultural challenges.
A central part of the statement focused on the Charter of Medina, which was presented as an early model of peaceful coexistence among diverse religious and ethnic communities. According to the statement, the Charter continues to offer valuable lessons for contemporary discussions on social cohesion, solidarity and peaceful coexistence.
The Cultural Consulate said it was proud to stand alongside the people of South Africa in pursuing a future based on peace, justice and human flourishing, while emphasizing the deep cultural ties between the two nations.
The statement concluded by describing the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as an opportunity to reaffirm the cultural bonds between Iran and South Africa and to express hopes for a world characterized by friendship, dignity and compassion.
