IRGC announces Operation True Promise 4, downs US MQ-9 drone, strikes F-16

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced the successful execution of a massive missile and drone operation targeting key industries belonging to the "American-Zionist enemy," while revealing that Iranian air defense units have shot down a US MQ-9 strategic drone and struck an American F-16 fighter jet.

Hawzah News Agency quoting the IRGC's Public Relations Department, the operation—dubbed "True Promise 4"—was carried out under the blessed code "Ya Rasul Allah" as part of the sustained and ongoing Wave 85 operations.

'Targeting enemy industries'

In its official statement, the IRGC emphasized that the operation came in response to repeated enemy aggressions against Iranian civilian industries.

"The American-Zionist enemy, which has been rendered incapable of confronting your combatant sons on land and sea, once again viciously targeted Iran's civilian industries," the statement read.

The IRGC stated that its naval and aerospace forces conducted missile and drone strikes against several heavy industries belonging to the aggressor American-Zionist enemy in the occupied territories and other locations, destroying significant portions of the targets.

'US MQ-9 downed over Shiraz, F-16 struck'

In a significant development during the operation, the IRGC detailed that enemy air forces attempted to target Iranian launch platforms by dispatching fighter jets and drones. However, IRGC air defense units successfully engaged the aggressors.

"With the fire of IRGC air defense, one US MQ-9 strategic unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the skies of Shiraz," the statement declared. "Additionally, an American F-16 fighter jet was struck in the southern part of Fars province."

The IRGC further noted that the F-16 was destroyed before landing at an airport in Saudi Arabia, adding that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has acknowledged the impact and significant damage to the aircraft in a statement.

'A warning, not the final response'

The IRGC concluded its statement by issuing a stern warning to what it called the "ill-advised rulers of America."

"We had warned that any attack on industrial targets would be avenged," the statement emphasized. "This attack was merely a warning. If the assault on industries is repeated, our next response will be beyond your imagination."

The statement ended with the verse: "And victory is only from God, the Almighty, the Wise."
