Malaysian Islamic Council Reiterates Supports for Islamic Revolution Leader's Stances

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) issued a statement voicing support for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s positions on holding the US president responsible for the deaths and destruction caused by the recent riots in Iran.

Hawzah News Agency- Recent developments in Iran can be assessed within the framework of the well-known pattern of foreign intervention, engineering, and weaponizing protests; a trend that has led to widespread civilian suffering and harm in various regions of the world, the statement read.

What has been observed in the recent unrest in Iran has been the diversion of civil protests into violence, attacks on civilians, security forces, and public infrastructure; a process that, if directed or supported by foreign intelligence agencies, becomes a tool for geopolitical warfare, it noted.

MAPIM also expressed strong concern about the statements and messages published by former US state secretary Mike Pompeo and the Israeli Regime’s spy agency, in which they supported the riots and even claimed to be present on the ground, and considered it a clear violation of a country’s national sovereignty and international law.

Criticizing the double standards of those claiming to be advocates of democracy, the statement emphasized, “Calling for destabilization in other countries by actors who suppress protests within their own borders and remain silent in the face of occupation, siege, and war crimes is a sign of instrumental abuse of the concept of freedom.”

At the end of the statement, MAPIM, emphasized the principles of national sovereignty, opposition to foreign intervention, and the necessity of protecting the lives of civilians, and called on the international community to abandon the so-called regime change approaches, adhere to international law, and pursue the path of dialogue and de-escalation.

In a speech on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian nation for breaking the back of sedition during the recent riots and said US President Donald Trump is a criminal for inflicting damages on the Iranian nation.

The Leader noted that the level of Western officials’ interference in previous seditions had largely been limited to second-rate media and political figures, but the peculiarity of the recent sedition was that the American president personally intervened, spoke, threatened, and by encouraging the seditionists sent them a message to proceed, not to fear, and that they would receive military support.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the statements of the American president, who had called the rioters “the Iranian nation,” as a great slander against the nation, saying that the American president explicitly encouraged the rioters and, behind the scenes, the United States and the Zionist regime aided them. “Therefore, we consider the American president guilty, both for the casualties and damages and because of the accusation he leveled against the Iranian nation.”
