Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at La Moncloa Palace on Human Rights Day, Sanchez highlighted the symbolism of the date—the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—and underscored that human dignity is “absolute, irreplaceable, and non-negotiable''.
Sanchez said 2025 had been “a devastating year for the Palestinian people'', noting that 90 percent of Gaza’s homes are now uninhabitable and that “countless families and lives” have been shattered.
He stressed that the recently declared ceasefire has not alleviated the suffering on the ground. “Even now, following the ceasefire, Palestinians in Gaza continue to face attacks… What we need is real peace. Those responsible for this genocide must be held accountable'', he said.
He added that the Spanish public has been “deeply moved” by the destruction in Gaza and strongly supports the recognition of the State of Palestine.
