Hawzah News Agency- In his address, Sayyed Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), described the growth and development of media activities in the movement for decades, from print to the online media.
He described the failed effort to establish English newspaper in the early 80s.
However by early 90s the Hausa newspaper called Almizan was published with only 2 pages, yet it had wider circulation in Nigeria, he noted.
He also spoke on the establishment of English newspapers called the The Pointer Express.
The Gwagwarmaya and Mujahida magazines were earier published and after sometimes their publication stopped, he explained.
The leader also spoke on the development of media with coming of the Internet, adding that social media platform plays a big role in spreading instant messages with text audio and video at once.
The leader called on the participants to pay attention in spreading the messages and information of activities of the Islamic Movement through different media channels and to avoid the associated distractions of social media as it caused individuals spent many hours without being able to do other things.
He added ''don’t allow those who are after becoming celebrities with aim of popularity distract you, they should not be given attention, and instead you should try and do important things – things that sometimes are seen as difficult'’.
