Iran’s Ambassador to Vatican condoles over Death of Pope Francis

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican has issued a message of condolences on the death of Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, the Iranian Ambassador to the Vatican, has issued an official message of condolences to the Catholic Church, the Vatican government and all Christians in the world over the loss of Pope Francis.

The text of the message is as follows:

With utmost sorrow and grief, I offer my condolences to the Vatican government, the Christian community and the followers of that great personality on the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, the religious and spiritual leader of the world's Catholic Christians.

Pope Francis was truly an inspiring figure, a peacemaker and a defender of human and moral values, whose efforts to promote interfaith dialogue, global solidarity and support for the disadvantaged will remain in the memory of the world.

On behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I express my sincere condolences to the Vatican officials and all followers of the Catholic Church, and I wish his soul eternal peace, and patience and consolation for his survivors and loved ones.

It is worth mentioning that the Vatican announced that Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics, died on Monday, April 21, 2025, in Rome at the age of 88.
