Hawzah News Agency- The World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) issued an important statement about the closure of the Islamic Center of Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt by the German authorities, the text of which is as follows:

In the name of God

The inhumane action of the German police special forces in attacking and closing Muslim places of worship, including the Islamic center and the mosque of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Hamburg, has deeply saddened and affected all Muslims, freedom fighters and those interested in human rights throughout the world.

The World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) as an international non-governmental organization that works in the field of religious and cultural affairs in facilitating and developing knowledge and awareness of the humanistic teachings of the religion of Islam and the transcendental teachings of Ahl al-Bayt Athar (peace be upon them), strongly condemns the action against religious freedoms and fundamental human rights and demands the German authorities to respond to the Public opinion and return mosques and religious centers to their normal activities.

The Islamic Center of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Hamburg, with more than 60 years of activity, is one of the most important religious, scientific and cultural centers in Germany, which provides competent services in the field of introducing religious and Islamic teachings on rationality, spirituality, solidarity and social peace. The promotion of peace, dialogue and peaceful coexistence among religions and therefore the rejection of extremism, differences and violence. This center has been operating for many years as one of the most prestigious Islamic centers supported by major seminaries and authorities such as the late Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi, and with the management of scholars and scientific personalities, it has been able to establish social, scientific and academic relationships and constructive cooperation with centers of other religions in Germany and Europe to take effective steps in strengthening and consolidating the fields of mutual understanding and dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations.

The World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) emphasizing the necessity of maintaining peace and social cohesion and protecting the rights of citizens and minorities, once again demands the German authorities to take urgent action to change the current practice and protect the rights of Muslims. It also expects the international authorities, including The High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations Human Rights Council to act decisively to protect human rights around the world, including in Germany.
