The head of Iran’s seminary said,” If we pay attention to the thousand-year history of Islamic seminaries, we realize that many educated figures of seminaries have had huge impact not only on Islamic civilization, but on the entire human race.”

Hawzah News Agency- Head of Iran’s seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi had a meeting with eighty German students on Saturday, March 30 while expressing his condolences on the days of martyrdom of Amir al-Momenin Imam Ali (PBUH), he explained the virtues of the month of Ramadan, especially the Nights of Qadr and stated,” As days, weeks, months and years are different in terms of virtue and closeness to Allah almighty, this superiority goes back to the month of Ramadan in the lunar months of the year and the nights of Power are the peak of this virtue; we are glad that you students have decided to have a spiritual and pilgrimage trip to Iran and the holy city of Qom during the Easter holidays in Germany.”

Taking a glance at thousand-year history of Shia seminaries, the head of seminaries added,” Shia seminaries have a history of more than a thousand years in various parts of the Islamic world such as Basra, Mecca, Medina, Ray, Qom, Baghdad, Jabal Amal and Najaf; No matter where they are, seminaries have a single historical identity.”

Ayatollah Arafi further pointed to the old seminary of Najaf and said,” Najaf seminary with a history of a thousand years has played a significant role in the growth and excellence of the Islamic society including mathematics and natural science to jurisprudence and principles have been taught in the seminary, and scientific elites such as Bu Ali Sina, Khwaja Nasir Tousi, Mulla Sadra and Sheikh Ansari were all educated in the seminary.”

The professor of Islamic jurisprudence at Qom seminary continued,” The seminaries' graduates and their scientific achievements were influential for both Shia and the Islamic world, and some of its scientific achievements had an impact on human civilization.”

Ayatollah Arafi also pointed out some characteristics of seminaries and said,” Today, the most detailed scientific researches and investigations are carried out in the seminary regarding every discipline and branch of science, and it is compared with Islamic jurisprudence so that it can be used by the scientific community.”

At the end of this cordial meeting, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi answered the questions raised by the attendees and finally a group photo was captured.
