Hawzah News Agency- the Iranian seminary delegation met with the mayor of Assisi, Prof. Stefania Provitti, along with some Franciscan Catholic managers on Sunday, February 4.
The mayor, who used to be a university professor, is one of the successful Italian mayors who has tried to preserve the historical, cultural and religious atmosphere of the city with a religious approach and has been successful in this regard.
Municipal employees are mostly women, and the management of the city is in the hands of women as well.
The municipal building is one of the old and medieval buildings. Its conference hall has witnessed very important historical meetings and old photos are engraved on its walls.
In the meeting with the mayor, the seminary delegation was introduced and later explanations were given about the seminaries, the academic degrees of students and scholars, the way of their scientific promotion, and the disciplines and tendencies of the Islamic seminary.
In this meeting, the position of women in Iran and their scientific development in the Islamic Republic and especially the women seminaries were explained.
In another part of this meeting, the common features of the two cities of Qom and Assisi were discussed from the religious, historical, cultural and political point of view and the unique personality of Lady Masuma (peace be upon her) was introduced.
Gifts were also presented to the mayor, including a painting from the holy shrine of Lady Masuma (peace be upon her) and the book of Sahifa Sajjadieh with an Italian translation.
At the end, with the invitation and suggestion of the mayor, the Assisi city bell tower was visited, which was a very high tower and a huge bell was installed on top of it.
