The head of the Institute of Islamic Religions said,” The first national conference on "The Role of Islamic Religions in the Regeneration of Islamic Civilization" will be held.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Mehdi Gholamali, in an interview with Hawzah News correspondent, announced the holding of the first national conference "Role of Islamic Religions in the Regeneration of Islamic Civilization" and said,” This conference will be held under the auspices of the Educational and Research Institute of Islamic Religions in Qom. Also, related institutions in Golestan province and Sunni Studies Planning Council cooperate in holding this conference.”

The head of the Institute of Islamic Religions further stated that the Islamic civilization is one of the concerns of the Supreme Leader and said,” He has stated that Muslims should establish a new Islamic civilization with common thinking.”

Hujjat al-Islam Gholamali stated that we have goals in this direction,” among these goals, we can strengthen the discourse of Islamic civilization between Shia and Sunni Islamic scholars and thinkers, and boost scientific interaction between Shia and Sunni scholars and attention to scientific problems.” He emphasized the social and ethnic areas of the country and the creation of practical unity with specialized meetings between Shiite and Sunni scholars.

He went on to say that this conference is held every year in one of the ethnic provinces of Iran, and reminded,” The first conference will be held on January 9 in Golestan province and the second conference will be held in Hormozgan province.”

The head of the Institute of Islamic Religions stated that Iran's Sunnis are members of Hanafi and Shafi'i sects and expressed,” We are trying to benefit from the thought of both groups in these conferences.”

Pointing out that we will have the opening on the morning of January 9, he said,” In the future, specialized groups on jurisprudence, theology and women will be established with the presence of Sunni and Shiite professors and students.”
