Hawzah News Agency- the ninth session of interfaith dialogue workshop in the international arena was held with the participation of 50 seminary students and the presentation of Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari, the professor of the seminary and university, at the management center of the seminaries in Qom.
Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Hossein Muzaffari, who holds a doctorate degree and is the head of the Center for Peace and Dialogue at the University of Religions and Denominations, at the beginning of his speech, mentioned the topic of the discussion, which was "the Islamic world and interfaith dialogue".
At the beginning of the workshop, he said,” The main purpose of the discussion is what is our point of view for the discussion of inter-religious dialogue?”
The discussion in this workshop is summarized in three topics:
The first axis of the concept of inter-religious dialogue is, what is meant by inter-religious dialogue?
The second axis is the approaches of interfaith dialogue, that is, what approach do we use in the Islamic world in the discussion of interfaith dialogue?
The third axis is the theoretical foundations of inter-religious dialogue from an Islamic point of view.
He further stated that in the discussion of the concept of religious dialogue, we are facing a duality; Are we looking for a monologue or a dialogue?
In our religious tradition, we have a title called Da'wah, which is one-way, that is, we express the truths of our religion to the other party and invite him to Islam. This is the monologue.
But dialogue means a two-way conversation between two sides of religions that are equal and the elders of both sides discuss and debate together.
Sometimes it happens that a conversation between two parties looks like a dialogue, but each one sits on the same side and expresses their articles and opinions, this is actually a monologue.
Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Hossein Muzaffari answered the questions at the end.
