Hawzah News Agency- Senior scholar Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli had a meeting with Dr. Kazem Gharibabadi, the vice president of international affairs and human rights of Iran’s Judiciary and the secretary of the human rights staff on Wednesday, December 14 during which the grand Ayatollah said,” "Iranian people are a great and noble people, and the greatness of the nation is an asset for us, and their dignity must be preserved."
He further said,” An example of the greatness and glory of the great nation of Iran was that even after the acceptance of the United Nations’ resolution to end Iran-Iraq War, Saddam carried out Military Operation Mersad against Iran, but after Saddam's attack on Kuwait, all countries turned against Iraq. Iran was also told that you have suffered a lot from Saddam in your 8 years of war, you should also attack them from the east side, but the Iranian nation did not do such invasion, while no one had told the nation you’re not supposed to do it, but the nobility of the Iranian nation was proved under those circumstances.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli elaborated on the recognition of human rights saying,” We must first know the nature of man to know his rights, one of the most blessed areas of human rights is whether man rots when he dies or comes out of his earthly cover?! Most people think that death is decay, while death is coming out of the material skin, not decay, the soul after death is stable, not static, we are who we are!”
In another part of his speech, the senior Shia scholar expressed,” There is a hadith from Imam Sadiq (PBUH) which reads,” If a person rides an animal, he should know that this animal has several rights over the rider. If he doesn't pass quickly when he reaches the meadow, he might be hungry; if the animal does not go fast and the rider wants to whip, he should hit the side of the animal, not his face! A religion that respects animals rights, does it not respect human beings?! Isn't this a truly humane religion?”
