The blessed influence that remains from the committed, religious, university professor who struggled on the path of God over the country’s universities is one of the greatest divine blessings, and it promises the honor and felicity of the Iranian nation in the future.

Hawzah News Agency - The message of Imam Khamenei to the University Professors Basij Day Conference is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

All praise is due to God, and peace and greetings be upon the Messenger of God and upon his pure Progeny.

I send my greetings to the Basiji university professors and to those participating in their Conference that is being held on the occasion of National University Professors Basij Day. I also wish to pay tribute and commemorate the memory of the scientist who struggled on the path of God, Martyr Mustafa Chamran and other martyrs from the university. The blessed influence that remains from the committed, religious, university professor who struggled on the path of God over the country’s universities is one of the greatest divine blessings, and it promises the honor and felicity of the Iranian nation in the future.

Your beneficial, advanced knowledge both in strategic, fundamental issues as well as in current, practical matters, serves the definite, immediate needs of the country. The task of a Basiji university professor is not just to teach. He/She must also bring scientific advancement, innovation both in the nature and the language of science, combine education with ethics and edification and move firmly toward the two-fold task of learning scientific breakthroughs [on the one hand] and attaining scientific authority and producing knowledge [on the other hand]. Furthermore, university professors in the fields of science have other duties of this kind as well. And you, the Basiji professors, can be pioneers and leaders in all such fields.

I ask God, the Exalted, for your success.

Sayyid Ali Khamenei
