Hawzah News Agency- Senior Shia scholar Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani had a meeting with a number of African Muslims during which he elaborated on examples of religious heresy and asserted, ‘Celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) or standing up for the Qur'an and kissing it, if done by a Muslim as part of a religious act are not considered as heresies.’

The senior Shia scholar further added, ‘Celebrating for the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the same as introducing him to the world, which Allah almighty has announced in a Quran ; therefore to celebrate for him is to express that love.’
