Hawzah News Agency – On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, the “Ethics and Family” meeting was held with a speech by the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly to the students of the International University of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).
In this meeting, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “According to a hadith, if we knew the truth of the holy month of Ramadan, we would always like it to be Ramadan. According to another hadith, we should not just say the month of Ramadan, but we should say the month of God. The month of God means that in this month we are invited to the God’s banquet, and at each banquet, the host offers his best property to the guests.”
“Ramadan is associated with abstinence from eating and drinking, which has its own philosophy. What man is looking for is not wealth and power. Because many people had power and wealth, but a lot of stress and anxiety was evident in their life. These people need peace; peace and good life that is accompanied by a pure thought, a pure look, a positive view of the world of creation; the things that man was created for. All these things give life purity and spirituality, and cause reason and contemplation. This is unattainable for many people, and only those who understand the truth and essence of religion will achieve it,” he added.
Regarding the fruits of man’s relationship with God, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The truth of religion causes human dignity. If man wants to be honored, he must attach himself to religion. There is no other way than this. Because the best relationship is one with God. Man’s relationship with God gives him power, and this relationship brings peace. If God is not in human life, man has no motivation to live and gets bored quickly. Even if the person is given the most freedom, he still gets bored. Man, himself seeks to reach the truth that he is constantly seeking.”
Regarding the mission of AhlulBayt (a.s.) University, he said, “The mission of universities is knowledge, and in this knowledge, politeness and humility should be considered. Avicenna, with all his greatness and wisdom, said, “I know that I am ignorant”. The fruit of true knowledge should be humility and obedience. These points must be considered. We are ignorant of the infinite science of the universe. Science and wisdom have filled the world. Divine names are found all over the world. Therefore, the university is a place to understand the greatness of the universe and its creator.”
“The holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity for people to find themselves and strengthen their relationship with God. Strengthening the relationship with God is one of the duties of an Islamic university. The university is a place of knowledge, politeness, culture, etc., and because this (University of AhlulBayt) is an international university, it should be familiar with international literature. International literature is different from local literature. It is world literature. We must be familiar with world literature because the way to talk to an international audience different. Therefore, talking to an international audience requires its own literature,” added the professor of higher levels of the seminary of Qom.
“The school of AhlulBayt (a.s.) must be manifested, that is, a school that is full of rationality, spirituality and justice. These should also be present in the family context,” he emphasized.
Regarding the importance of the family in Islam, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “One of the miraculous verses which we pass it easily, is: “وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ” (And of His signs is that He created for you mates from your own selves that you may take comfort in them, and He ordained affection and mercy between you. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect.) (Holy Quran, Surah: Ar-Rum, Verse: 21). There are many points in this verse. Some people say that this comfort is given by a woman to a man. However, according to Islam, both men and women should be comforted. The view of the Holy Quran is comprehensive, and it considers this peace to be two-sided, and the key to family stability is love.”
Regarding the oppression of the West against the family, he said, “We should not distort the pillars of family. In the liberalism, there are distortions against the family. We say that the family system naturally begins with marriage, that is, a man and a woman, or a boy and a girl, who relate to each other according to certain criteria and become acquainted with each other. According to the words of Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, “Woman is the manifestation of God’s beauty, and man is the manifestation of God’s glory”. In the West today, this definition has been distorted. In the West, the definition of family says that there is no need for a couple in the family! They changed this concept and therefore distorted it. There is no peace and calmness in these conditions. Because this calmness is created because of the true connection, with the true criteria.”
“Even if there is discomfort outside the house, the man should enter the house with a smiling face. You should experience these things. In this case, this love will be meaningful and lasting, otherwise it will be short-lived,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in the end.
