Hawzah News Agency – Jenin Battalion of Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad Palestinian Resistance movement said the Israeli occupation was trying to restore prestige through the Israeli raid of Jenin refugee camp which took place on Thursday.
In a statement late Thursday briefed on the Israeli raid, saying the attack failed to achieve its goals of arresting Resistance operatives.
The Battalion’s also praised the groups’ fighters for ‘heroically confronting” the attack.
“Dozens of Israeli vehicles encircled homes in the camp in a failed attempt to arrest a number of Mujahedeen (Resistance fighters). However, our fighters heroically repelled the coward attack and prevented the occupation forces to carry out the arrests.”
Fierce clashes took place, leading to the injury of an Israeli soldier from the elite Duvdevan Unit, the statement said.
“Two of our fighters were martyred, Sanad Abu Atiyah and Yazid Al-Saadi, and two other were wounded during the clash,” Jenin Battalion said, vowing that the blood of Palestinian fighters “won’t go in vain.”
The group also hailed martyr Nidal Jaafra who carried out stabbing attack south of Bethlehem.
“The occupation failure to arrest our Mujahedeen is a blow to its security body which has been trying to restore its prestige following the Resistance operations in the Israeli depth, especially that which took place in Tel Avi’s Bnei Brak and was carried out by martyr Diaa Hamarsheh.”
