Hawzah News Agency –Director General of the Cultural Center of Asia House, Javier Parando, during a meeting with Cultural Advisor od Islamic Republic of Iran in Spain, announced the holding of roundtables and specialized meetings on the cinema of Asian countries and said Iranian cinema has a special place among Spanish people.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Mohammad Mehdi Ahmadi in his meeting Javier Parando, talked about the development of cooperation between the Cultural Center of the Asia House and Iranian Cultural Mission in Madrid, saying that cultural relations with other countries and using the experiences of others are very important in cultural development. We believe that the House of Asia is working in this direction, and the result is to enhance the cultural experiences of both sides in working together.
He referred to the forthcoming programs of this mission, including the seminar "Joint cultural heritage of Iran and Spain", which is to be held in cooperation with the University of Complutense in Madrid.
Emphasizing the expansion of mutual cooperation, Mr. Ahmadi suggested holding the unveiling ceremony of Qabus Nama (a major work of Persian literature, from the eleventh century), online or face-to-face training courses on Iranian studies, culture and civilization, and screening of Iranian films participating in the Barcelona Asian Film Festival in Madrid.
Welcoming the proposals made by top Iranian cultural official in Madrid, Parando said next year coincides with the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Asian Film Festival and we want to do special work on this occasion.
The director general of the Asia House Cultural Center added roundtables and specialized meetings will be held on the cinema of Asian countries, and since Iranian cinema has a special place with the Spaniards, we can give more variety and depth to these programs with the help of the Iranian Cultural Attaché.
He added if Iranian film directors and officials can attend this festival, their relationship with the cinema section of the Asia House and other people participating in the festival can provide a lot of cooperation.
Parando pointed to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Asia House and the Iranian Cultural Mission on holding Persian language classes and stated this program has been followed seriously and well, and we want this cooperation to continue.
Ms. Mennegrass, Director of Festivals and Cultural Programs of the Asia House, who was present at the meeting, while emphasizing the importance of Iranian cinema and its global impact, said it is very important for us to cover films from Iranian cinema and we tend to do the same for contemporary Iranian literature, because young Iranian writers have significant thoughts and ideas.
