 Iraqi politician lauds Imam Khomeini's leadership

Head of the Iraqi National Alliance hailed Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the threshold of the .victory anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979. // "Islam played a pivotal role in Iran's revolution"

Hawzah News Agency (Baghdad, Iraq) - Addressing a gathering in Baghdad late Friday, Ammar Hakim said the Islamic Revolution is well-known across the world with the character of late Imam Khomeini (ra).

Despite his old age, Hakim said, Imam Khomeini had amicable relations with the Iranian nation and was always insisting to talk to people directly.

 

 

The top Iraqi official named spirituality, close relationship with God, wisdom, faith, realism, sincerity and courage as main merits of founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also hailed Imam Khomeini's endeavors for fighting against the bullying of hegemonic powers, adding that he stood against the arrogant bully and institutionalized such an attitude across the globe.

 

 

Hakim underscored that the Islamic Revolution was highly influenced by late Imam Khomeini's character.

Adding that the revolution was an Islamic one, he said that Islam played a pivotal role in Iran's revolution which is also popular and far-reaching.

 

 

The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn in ceremonies which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979.

The Iranian people toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.
