Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – In a message issued on Wednesday, October 4, senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani hailed Iraqi forces present on the battlefields against ISIS terrorists; he thanked the forces for their selfless sacrifices which resulted in the victory of Iraq.

The representative of Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani Sheikh Mahdi al-Karbalaee, in a recorded phone call with the commander of Ali al-Akbar (as) force Gen. al-Hamdani, delivered the message which read, "In recent days and months which are the days of the true victory of Husseini uprising, brave Iraqi soldiers displayed yet another aspect of Imam Hussein's (as) epic movement; These forces proved their absolute adherence to Imam Hussein (as) and his valuable teachings."

The representative of Grand Ayatollah further said, "The sacrifices made by Iraqi forces led to the freedom of many areas in the country which used to be occupied by terrorists."

"More power to your mighty arms!" May Allah place you among the companions of Imam Hussein (as)." the message concluded.
