Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Grand Ayatollah Sistani asked Imam Hussain’s (A.S) mourners to act on these 3 guidelines:
1. The necessity of missionaries and eulogists being up-to-date and paying attention to contemporary doubts
In part of his message, the revered source of emulation said, “The message of Hussaini Minbars should address people’s conscience. Missionaries and eulogists should use the days of Muharram to explain the facts and principles of the school of the Ahlul-Bayt (A.S) based on scientific logic, solid evidences and strong rational and narrative reasons.”
2. The importance of respecting the holy place of Ahlul-Bayt by eulogists
Grand Ayatollah Sistani stressed on the important effect of mourning ceremonies on the young generation and asked eulogists and Hussaini poets to use respectful language and avoid inappropriate words and tunes.
“Do not do anything that would tarnish the high place of the school of the Ahlul-Bayt (A.S) or create any excuse for the enemies,” he reiterated.
3. Having a huge turnout at Imam Hussain (A.S) mourning ceremonies and avoiding Bid‘ah
His Eminence asked all Muslims to join Imam Hussain (A.S) mourning ceremonies and show their love for Ahlul-Bayt (A.S). Ayatollah Sistani also asked Imam Hussain mourners to avoid acts that are not based on Shariah and Islam and would distance other Muslims from these ceremonies.
