Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Professor Akhtarul Wasey, Dean of Indian Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University, met with Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Iranian Seminaries, in Qom on Sunday, July 9.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Indian scholar presented a report on the current social and economic status of Muslims in India and asserted; “Al-Mustafa University’s activities in approximating Islamic sects must be introduced to the whole world so that all Muslims become familiar with the international capacities of this great Islamic center.”
Pointing out one of his main reasons for traveling to Iran as reviving Persian language and literature in the Indian subcontinent, Professor Wasey reiterated, “We hope to establish a specialized center to offer Persian language and literature courses in India with the cooperation of Al-Mustafa International University.”
Dean of India’s Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University asserted that science and religion come together in the holy city of Qom and this is why he decided to visit this city; “The seminary of Qom is actively involved in interfaith dialogues among Islamic sects as well as with other Abrahamic religions. This city is away from any form of religious extremism and is promoting a genuine interpretation of Islam worldwide.”
