Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the National Youth Day in Iran’s Qom on Monday, May 8, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi congratulated the birth anniversary of Ali al-Akbar ibn Husayn (as) and said, “The family foundation in the West is becoming weaker and weaker, but according to Islamic teachings family is at the heart of every society and it is strongly highlighted.”

Ayatollah Arafi then elaborated on some moral virtues regarding family relations and said, “Mutual understanding plays a big role in maintaining family relations between spouses.”

“The first secret to a happy marriage is that spouses do not unnecessarily insist on their tastes and interests; they must also make effort to discover the other person’s world and become familiar with their wants and needs; they need to compromise on their choices.”

“If we raise our children appropriately, then we’ll have a well-trained society. If we wish to solve social problems, we must start from our own families and children.” Ayatollah Arafi concluded.
