"During the last six years since the beginning of Bahrain’s popular uprisings, I haven’t seen any Bahraini protestor chanting sectarian or tribal slogans, It’s absolutely wrong that a nation be politically prosecuted and oppressed solely because they believe in a certain religion or faith," said former head of Arab Writers’ Union.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - Dr Hussain Joma, current member of the union’s board of directors, had an interview with Hawzah News in which he stated his comments on the ongoing Bahraini Revolution and slammed Al Khalifah’s inhumane policies in oppressing the Bahraini people.

During the interview he asserted, "I was hoping that the Bahraini regime rethinks its oppressive and inhumane measures against innocent Bahraini citizens and recognizes their legitimate demands. It’s absolutely wrong that a nation be politically prosecuted and oppressed solely because they believe in a certain religion or faith," Hawzah News reported.

Dr Joma went on, "In every country, all citizens despite their faiths or ethnicity are equally entitled to their civil rights; I was hoping that the Bahraini regime would listen to their people’s call for justice and hear their voice, so that they realize some of the Bahraini citizens’ demands, but instead during the last six years, Al Khalifah has been oppressing popular uprisings and the Bahraini Revolution; they even intensified their heavy crackdown on dissent. Now, everyone is witnessing Al Khalifah’s atrocities against the innocent Bahraini people."

"During the last six years since the beginning of Bahrain’s popular uprisings, I haven’t seen any Bahraini protestor chanting sectarian or tribal slogans, rather all that these innocent Bahrainis demand is for the regime to recognize their political, social and national rights," Dr Joma concluded.
