Iraq’s al-Hakim eyes enhanced Economic Ties with Iran

Head of Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council received an Iranian parliamentary delegation on Saturday; he urged enhancing bilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq, especially in economic areas.

Hawzah News Agency (Baghdad, Iraq) – An Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Dr Muhammadreza Rezayi, head of the parliament’s fraction for economic development, met with Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq on Saturday, March 4.

 

During the meeting, the Iraqi cleric urged enhancing bilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq, especially in economic areas as well as exchanging parliamentary experiences. 

 

Al-Hakim concluded, "It’s about time for the Iraqi people to sow the crops of their patience throughout all these years as 2017 is considered as a fateful year for the future of Iraq. It’s due to the fact that we must put an end to ISIS military presence in Iraq in 2017 and consolidate a lasting democracy in the country."
