Senior Clerics mark ۱۹۷۹ Islamic Revolution amid US Threats

In their millions, Iranians have filled the streets countrywide to relive the day 38 years ago when the nation’s hard-fought Islamic Revolution against the former US-backed regime became victorious.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - On Friday morning, people from all walks of life started out the commemoration rallies in different cities and towns across Iran to celebrate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

In Qom, numerous religious figures and scholars attended the demonstration to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Grand Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani, a senior Shia cleric, asserted, “Millions of Iranians march on the streets to voice their solidarity and to renew their allegiance to the late Imam Khomeini (ra), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, another senior Shia scholar, also stressed, “We must appreciate these mass nationwide rallies to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution since these demonstrations send a clear message to our enemies and bring hope to our friends and allies; these rallies warn the imperialist powers to never undermine the unity and solidarity of the Iranian nation,” Hawzah reported.

Another Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi also remarked, “The number of people who participated in this year’s demonstrations is much higher compared to the previous years; the main reason is that Iranians always confront those people who threaten them and their country. During the demonstration, they slammed the US government’s recent threats and responded to US politicians' rhetoric decisively.”

It must be noted that other senior cleric including, Ayatollah Moqtadayi, member of the Islamic seminaries’ supreme council, Hujjat al-Islam Saeedi, Qom’s Friday Prayer Leader, Ayatollah Amini as well as many other clerics attended the 22 Bahman demonstrations in Qom, Iran.
