"There are currently 20 to 30 Shia Islamic centers in England, but there are no mosques for them to practice their religion; as a result, the Shia youth travel to Germany to perform some of their religious rituals," said Grand Ayatollah Makarem.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, a Shia source of emulation, received a group of al-Mustafa University professors in his house in Qom, Iran on Tuesday, January 3.

During the meeting, he addressed the professors who are currently teaching Islamic courses in al-Mustafa University's branch in France saying, "France is a country that consists of many ethnicities , it's located where Asia, Europe and Africa meet and it served as a historical Immigration destination for many people from all over the world,"

The senior cleric added, "There are currently 20 to 30 Shia Islamic centers in England, but there are no mosques for them to practice their religion; as a result, the Shia youth travel to Germany to perform some of their religious rituals."

"Shiism is a rational school of thought based on the holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad's (sawa) teachings," Grand Ayatollah underscored.

"Unfortunately, these days we see Salafi extremists are freely propagating their superstitious thoughts and there's no rational basis supporting their thoughts."

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi further asserted, "If we, as Shia Muslims, manage to promote our thoughts and doctrine appropriately, then more and more people would be interested to know about Shiism and learn about our doctrine."

End.
