Love for Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) Finds Meaning in Following Her Sira: Indian Cleric

Hojatoleslam Seyyed Ali Abbas Haeri, an Indian cleric, stressed that true devotion to Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) must translate into action, urging her followers to embody her teachings of piety, purity, self-sacrifice and defense of truth in their daily lives.

Hawzah News Agency- Delivering the Friday prayer sermon in the city of Jaunpur in India's Uttar Pradesh state, Hojatoleslam Haeri highlighted the central place of piety in the lifestyle of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH), saying: "Worship, purity, self-sacrifice and defense of truth are among the most prominent characteristics of that noble lady, and her lovers must apply these teachings in their own lives."

Piety: The Core Criterion in Every Aspect of Life

Opening his remarks with an exhortation to God-wariness, the cleric cited a passage from the sermon of Imam Ali (PBUH): "O servants of God, I urge you to hold fast to piety and adhere firmly to it."

Explaining the concept of Taqwa, he said it is not merely about avoiding sin; a pious person must make the pleasure of God Almighty the criterion for decisions and behavior in all areas of life. True piety, he noted, must manifest itself in sincerity during worship, honesty in speech, fairness in transactions and social relations, and patience and perseverance in the face of hardships. Taqwa, therefore, is an all-encompassing concept that must influence all of a person's individual and social behaviors and relationships.

The Sira of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH): A Complete Manifestation of Divine Piety

Referring to the Fatimiyya commemorations, the Friday prayer leader described the character of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) as a complete model for understanding and realizing divine piety. Her worship exemplified sincere servitude, her self-sacrifice reflected pure devotion, her purity and chastity symbolized modesty and virtue, and her efforts in defense of truth stood as an outstanding example of steadfastness and commitment to justice.

He emphasized that Hazrat Zahra's life teaches us that a pious person should not think only of their own salvation and happiness, but must also regard the guidance of others, the reform of society, and the defense of truth and human rights as part of their responsibilities.

Defense of Truth, Self-Sacrifice and Prayer for Others: Practical Manifestations of Piety

Hojatoleslam Haeri elaborated on various dimensions of Hazrat Zahra's sira, noting that whenever she faced the need to defend the truth, she expressed her position clearly, drawing on the Holy Quran and employing reasoning and logic.

In the arena of self-sacrifice, he added, Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) prioritized the needs of others over her own, and when praying, she would not supplicate only for herself but would also remember others and the believers in her prayers. These behaviors, he said, show that piety is not merely a theoretical concept or a set of moral recommendations, but a reality that must manifest itself in human behavior and lifestyle — a reality most perfectly embodied in the sira of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH).

Love for Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) Requires Following Her Sira

The Jaunpur Friday prayer leader stressed the need to turn love for the Ahlulbayt (PBUT) into practical action, stating that sincere love for Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) requires that, alongside recounting her virtues and merits, we also take steps to act upon her sira and teachings.

He noted that Hazrat Zahra's servitude and sincerity must be reflected in our prayers and worship, her purity and chastity in our morals and conduct, and her honesty in our transactions and social relations. Likewise, the spirit of self-sacrifice, responsibility and service to others must be strongly present in our social lives.

In conclusion, Hojatoleslam Haeri stressed that one of the most important requirements of true knowledge of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) is to choose her sira as the guiding light of one's life — for genuine devotion reaches perfection only when it becomes evident in a person's behavior, morals and individual and social responsibilities.
