President Pezeshkian: We Support Any Understanding Aimed at the Unity and Security of Islamic Nations

Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met today, Monday, with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey. During these discussions, he expressed Tehran’s full readiness to deepen regional cooperation and emphasized the necessity for unity within the Islamic world in the face of shared threats.

Hawzah News Agency- he meeting held within the framework of a "quadrilateral session on regional security and stability," proposed by Pakistan and hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran was attended by Khalid bin Salman (Saudi Minister of Defense), Asim Munir (Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan), and Ibrahim Kalin (Head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization).

The session was hosted by Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. The agenda focused on regional security, the consequences of military aggression, and providing aid to the people of Palestine and Lebanon.

Pointing to the fundamental commonalities within the Islamic world, Pezeshkian stated: "It is our firm belief that Islamic nations, guided by the teachings of the noble Prophet of Islam (PBUH), should prioritize the principles of brotherhood and unity in their relations." Emphasizing that "by leveraging their shared capacities, Islamic nations can present a model of justice and development to the world," he declared that Iran "supports any understanding that leads to the strengthening of unity, cohesion, security, and development in the region."

According to ISNA, the President of Iran, in another part of his remarks, condemned the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon. He emphasized that this regime, "relying on state terrorism and enjoying the support of the United States, is perpetrating numerous crimes in the region." Noting that the scope of these aggressions has extended to Iran resulting in the martyrdom of the country’s leaders, commanders, and scientists he remarked: "They imagined that through pressure and aggression, they could bring about the collapse of the Islamic Republic of Iran; however, the outcome of these actions has been the strengthening of internal unity and cohesion, as well as an increase in the solidarity of the Iranian nation."

Addressing claims regarding Iran's nuclear program, Pezeshkian clearly articulated Tehran’s official stance, stating: "We are not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons; as a signatory to the NPT, we intend to continue our nuclear activities within the framework of international rights and obligations." He added, "We reserve our right to benefit from peaceful nuclear activities."

It is worth noting that a quadrilateral meeting involving the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia commenced in Tehran a short while ago. This meeting was convened at the proposal of Pakistan, with the assistance and cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
