Pakistani Scholar Urges Global Study of Martyred Leader's Quranic Thought

A Pakistani cleric and researcher says the ideas of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution are rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran, and researching and introducing them to the world is a key responsibility of writers and scholars.

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Mohammad Ijaz Nagri, a Pakistani cleric and researcher, stressed the scholarly, jurisprudential, political and spiritual dimensions of the martyred Leader's personality, saying his ideas are rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran and that researching these ideas and introducing them to the world is among the important responsibilities of writers and researchers.

The remarks came during a scholarly session titled "The Thoughts of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei," organized by the Quranic Sciences and Exegesis Association of Al-Mustafa International University in Karachi, with a group of professors and seminary students in attendance at the Imam Khamenei Library in the city.

Scholars' Responsibility to Explain Quranic Thought

Speaking on "The Quranic and Civilizational Thoughts of the Martyred Leader Grand Ayatollah Khamenei and the Responsibility of Writers," Nagri emphasized the need for scholarly examination of the Leader's personality and ideas, stating that researching his character and thoughts and introducing them to the world is a major responsibility of writers and researchers. His ideas were rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran, he said, and for this reason they have been able to influence some Western thinkers as well.

Growing Global Studies on the Leader's Thought

Referring to the trajectory of scholarly studies on the Leader's ideas, the Pakistani cleric added that today, numerous research projects on his personality and thought are underway in various parts of the world, and research into the Quranic dimensions of his ideas began even during his lifetime.

He also noted the holding of scholarly sessions and programs in Iran and Pakistan examining the Leader's Quranic and civilizational thought, stressing the continuation of research activities in this field.

A Scholarly and Jurisprudential Figure

Nagri then examined the scholarly and jurisprudential dimensions of the Leader's personality, stating that whether a guardian jurist must also be a source of emulation is among the important scholarly discussions in this field. However, examining the Leader's personality shows that he was an authority with a comprehensive and deep vision in various fields such as politics, jurisprudence, economics and military affairs, and a number of prominent scholarly figures and contemporary jurists have emphasized his scholarly standing and thought.

He added that the Leader did not regard the Holy Quran as merely a book for reading, but as a book of life and action, and the Quran held a central place in his life, thought and struggles.

Global Recognition of His Political Insight

The religious expert also pointed to the political dimensions of the Leader's personality, saying that at the global level, a number of leaders and political figures—including Russian President Vladimir Putin, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and other world political figures—have spoken of his political insight and leadership capabilities.

Spiritual Dimensions and Simple Living

He then referred to the spiritual dimensions of the martyred Leader's personality, saying supplication, worship and staying awake at night were prominent manifestations of his character. In difficult conditions and when facing problems, he would visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) or the holy Jamkaran Mosque, reflecting his deep spiritual connection and reliance on God Almighty.

The Pakistani cleric also noted the Leader's lifestyle, stating that studying his life reveals clear manifestations of simple living, in which he took the conduct of his noble ancestor, Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (PBUH), as his model.

Call for Research and Global Presentation

In conclusion, Nagri called on seminary students to study, research and write articles about the Leader's ideas, stressing that the scholarly works and Quranic thought of the Leader published in Persian and Arabic must be utilized and introduced to the world through research and scholarly writing.
