Yemeni Media Activist: Saudi Arabia Using Baseless Sectarian Accusations to Escape Yemen Quagmire

A Yemeni woman media activist has written that Saudi Arabia's recent moral bankruptcy was exposed in its fabrication of a new lie claiming that Islamic holy sites in Mecca and Medina were targeted — particularly its hypocritical mourning for a power plant in Medina. This "baseless Saudi slander" against Yemen's armed forces, which represent the Sanaa government and the nation's unshakable will, is aimed solely at stoking sectarian divisions.

Hawzah News Agency- In recent days, Yemeni resistance fighters have scored widespread victories against Saudi aggressors, with many Saudi mercenaries surrendering their weapons to the Yemeni resistance and large areas being liberated.

Facing the Yemeni resistance and its efforts to break the oppressive Saudi siege, the Al Saud regime has launched brutal attacks on residential areas of Sanaa in recent days. After the Yemeni resistance targeted a power plant 100 kilometers from Medina, Saudi- and US-affiliated media launched a propaganda war to incite religious sentiment among Muslims, claiming the Houthis had targeted the holy cities.

In this context, Amat Malik Khashab, a Yemeni media activist and member of the Ansarullah Women's Committee, published a special op-ed titled "Escalation and Saudi's Blatant Lies: The Bankruptcy of Falsehoods and the Failure of Betting Against Yemen's Resilience," analyzing the Yemeni people's resistance against the oppressive Saudi siege and the successes of Yemeni fighters on the frontlines against Saudi mercenaries.

The full translated text of the op-ed follows:

The world today is witnessing a new and blatant round of Saudi Arabia's ruthless escalation against Yemen, exposing the peak of the impotent Saudi regime's military and political bankruptcy and its outright moral collapse. With every battlefield defeat and strategic retreat it suffers, the Saudi enemy resorts to repeating despicable lies and using worthless religious rhetoric to serve its masters and backers in Washington and Tel Aviv, employing the most hateful methods of deception and disinformation.

This moral bankruptcy was recently exposed in the fabrication of a new, manufactured lie claiming that Islamic holy sites in Mecca and Medina were targeted — particularly its hypocritical mourning for a power plant in Medina. This "baseless Saudi slander" against Yemen's armed forces, which represent the Sanaa government and the nation's unshakable will, is aimed solely at stoking sectarian divisions, courting foreign and international sympathy, and portraying its defeats as victories to cover up its obvious inability to defend itself against decisive Yemeni attacks. In a repulsive intellectual and religious paradox, the true nature of the Wahhabi religious establishment is laid bare.

Court-appointed sheikhs like Saleh al-Fawzan and the Council of Senior Scholars rush to issue fatwas inciting violence and war in Yemen, while when it comes to supporting Gaza and occupied Palestine against the savage, destructive Zionist war, they hide behind slogans of "jihad according to the Sunnah" and silent prayers. They even prevent pilgrims and Umrah performers from praying for Palestine under the political pretext of not politicizing the Grand Mosque.

This moral unmasking of Riyadh comes as Yemen courageously and decisively advances the nation's central battle — just as the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, alongside Mehdi al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, reaffirm Yemen's principled and unshakable position of absolute solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran against any Zionist or American aggression, and stands on principle alongside Lebanon and its courageous resistance against savage Zionist aggression. Yemen is not detached from the nation's core causes; indeed, today it is an impregnable fortress against the Zionist-American alliance and its agents in the region.

Hence the intense terror and extreme anxiety of the Zionist regime and Washington over Yemen's armed forces tightening their iron siege on the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea. Sanaa has proven it possesses the power of courageous decision-making and will no longer allow global arrogance to dictate its navigation orders to others.

Despite conspiracies and plots, the Foreign Ministry in Sanaa has repeatedly emphasized that all ships of the world — with the exception of Saudi vessels — pass in complete calm and security as long as Riyadh does not lift its severe and unjust siege on Yemen's airports and ports and halt its brutal aggression.

Saudi Arabia's criminality and recklessness were not limited to fabricated rumors, but materialized in an open and treacherous attack on Sanaa International Airport, immediately after the arrival of an Iranian plane on a humanitarian mission to transport the wounded, the sick, students, and a delegation participating in the funeral of the martyred leader in the Islamic Republic — an unbelievable crime that reveals the extent of this aggression's hatred and moral corruption. Moreover, bloody massacres were carried out directly against citizens in the Mawia market and in al-Ma'afar district in Taiz province, along with the systematic targeting and retaliatory destruction of vital communication networks in Amran, Dhamar, Hajjah, Saada, and Taiz.

In the face of this Saudi hysteria, Yemen's armed forces are closely monitoring all movements and attacks. In this context, the recent statement by the official spokesman of the armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, exposed the horrific figures of the aggression: Saudi warplanes (F-15 and Typhoon models) flying from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, in addition to intense missile attacks from Najran and Jizan, carried out 94 airstrikes and missile attacks in the past 24 hours. Civilian targets in Sanaa, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, Amran, and Ibb were targeted, killing and wounding innocent civilians. This brings the total number of airstrikes and missile attacks by the Saudi-led coalition since the start of the latest escalation on September 8 to 1,350.

Saudi Arabia should not think that by denying its crimes in Yemen and attributing all of them to the so-called legitimacy — which is in essence the legitimacy of hotels in Riyadh — everything is documented and monitored in the world of digital media and international human rights documentation.

Sanaa warns in a firm and severe tone: All military gatherings, mercenary concentrations, and weapons deployed by Riyadh under the supervision of Saudi officers and soldiers in Taiz, Aden, and border crossings and ports are legitimate, permissible targets exposed to the fire and missiles of Yemen's armed forces.

Let the Saudi regime, drowned in its arrogance, know that the current operation is only the first stage of escalation. The Yemeni lion will not retreat a single step and will not be deterred by slander or intimidation. Yemen's devastating attacks will not stop until the Saudi regime completely withdraws its hand from Yemen, ends its siege, and submits to the rights of the Yemeni people and their national sovereignty. Otherwise, what lies ahead will be more painful and more destructive for the Al Saud throne.

Anyone standing alongside the Saudis must reconsider their position and take advantage of the general amnesty issued by President al-Mashat. Yemen's revolutionary leadership has declared the escalation of war against the Saudis, not against Yemenis. We in Sanaa have the right to prepare to claim our rights from the Saudis. We will not remain under siege indefinitely. Every Yemeni must remain neutral and allow the men of Sanaa to confront Saudi Arabia directly without being used as human shields.

Saudi Arabia even killed its own prisoners in al-Hazm prison in al-Jawf, before everyone's eyes — prisoners who were working with forces loyal to it. This is the end of cheap mercenaries throughout history. Anyone who respects himself respects his country and refuses to compromise on its sovereignty. Whatever internal differences may exist, national principles remain constant, and the slogan "You will not be a guardian in my land," which every Yemeni repeats and takes pride in in their national anthem, remains an eternal approach and a firm path from which no Yemeni, north or south, will retreat.
