Hawzah News Agency- On Saturday, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, the representative of Iraq's supreme religious authority, announced while welcoming a Palestinian patient currently undergoing treatment at health facilities affiliated with the Shrine that the Shrine is prepared to admit Palestinian patients across all medical specialties and provide them with free medical services. He emphasized that the Shrine would bear the costs of treatment and transport, and that the follow-up of medical cases—including those requiring repeated treatment—would continue until full recovery.
This initiative is part of humanitarian support for the Palestinian people and demonstrates solidarity with them amidst the difficult circumstances they are facing. During the meeting, Sheikh Karbalai expressed his satisfaction in hosting and serving Palestinian patients during the current dire situation in Gaza. Health institutions affiliated with the Shrine have also declared their full readiness to provide the necessary care to the patients.
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) has previously undertaken similar measures to support wounded and sick Palestinians. In 2025, a group of wounded individuals from Gaza were received near the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), and the Shrine undertook the responsibility for their treatment.
