Hawzah News Agency- The Quran forms part of the museum’s diverse collection of manuscripts, Qurans, and historical artifacts documenting the development of Quranic writing and the artistic traditions associated with the Holy Quran.
The collection includes manuscripts representing different periods in the history of Quranic transcription, as well as examples of various Arabic scripts used in Quranic manuscripts. It also showcases the arts of ornamentation, illumination, gilding, and binding, along with traditional tools used for writing and copying the Quran.
Among the museum’s notable holdings are rare historic Qurans, including manuscripts written in Kufic script and others distinguished by elaborately ornamented and gilded pages.
The collection also features the renowned Blue Quran, whose verses are written in gold on deep-blue pages, offering another exceptional example of the artistic traditions that developed around the writing and preservation of the Holy Quran.
