Hawzah News Agency- In a statement released on Tuesday, al-Khazali extended his condolences to the Master of the Age (may God hasten his reappearance), the honorable seminary, and the entire Islamic ummah on the passing of the eminent religious authority.
The statement cited the prophetic tradition: "When a scholar dies, a breach is made in Islam that nothing can repair until the Day of Resurrection."
Al-Khazali said the late Marja was a prominent figure among the great scholars of fiqh and usul, and a leading figure in the study of rijal and hadith. He devoted his blessed life to spreading the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and training generations of scholars and researchers, before departing this world after a life filled with generosity and piety in service to religion and Shia Islam.
He asked God Almighty to envelop the late scholar in His vast mercy, place him in Paradise in the company of the Prophet Muhammad and his pure household, and grant patience and comfort to his family, students, and admirers.
The statement concluded with the Quranic verse: "Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we return."
