Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Sayyid Kalb Jawad Naqvi made the remarks during his Friday sermon at the Asifi Shia Mosque in Lucknow, according to a report by the Hawzah News Agency.
Muslim unity 'main barrier' to US, Israeli plots
Naqvi said that as the United States and Israel seek to sow division and discord among Muslims, preserving the unity and solidarity of the Islamic Ummah is the secret to Muslim victory and dignity.
Referring to the so-called "Treaty of Makkah," he described the agreement as merely a paper document with no practical viability.
Raising the question of whether Saudi Arabia would go to war with Israel under the treaty if the Zionist regime attacked Pakistan or Turkey, Naqvi said the agreement was formed at America's will and direction and cannot be implemented in practice.
He also pointed to positions taken after attacks on Saudi Arabia, claiming that some parties to the treaty dismissed the attacks as a matter of the past and outside their responsibility — meaning, in his view, the agreement faced a serious challenge from its very first days.
Makkah drone incident a 'pre-planned conspiracy'
Naqvi also took aim at claims surrounding a drone attack on Makkah, saying the incident was part of a pre-planned conspiracy to pin responsibility on the Houthis and turn Muslim public opinion against them.
He criticized Saudi and some Arab government policies, claiming they have in many cases failed to prioritize the interests of the Islamic Ummah.
Iran a model of resistance against oppression
The Indian cleric described Iran as a model of standing up to oppression and hegemony, saying that if Muslims want to learn the lesson of freedom and resistance against tyranny, they must learn from Iran.
He said Iran has continued to stand against powers it considers oppressive, describing that resistance as a key factor in preserving the country's independence and dignity.
Muslims must stay vigilant against division
Referring to regional developments, Naqvi claimed the United States and Israel are working to create discord and division among Muslims. Muslims must therefore remain vigilant and not allow their unity to be undermined, he said.
Stressing the importance of Muslim unity and solidarity, he said success is impossible without preserving unity, and Muslims must not weaken the power that comes from their cohesion.
The prominent Indian scholar also pointed to the confrontation between Iran and the United States, claiming that Washington's failure against Iran should be attributed largely to the unity of the Iranian people. In this confrontation, he said, oppression has been defeated and the oppressed have triumphed.
US to leave region 'in disgrace'
In conclusion, Naqvi addressed the US military presence in the Persian Gulf, saying America will leave the region in disgrace — and that circumstances will be created for the country such that it will no longer dare return.
