Hawzah News Agency- The meeting brought together Sheikh Ali Daamoush, head of Hezbollah's Executive Council, and Dr. Mostafa Fawani, head of Amal's Executive Body. Discussions focused on consolidating the internal front, safeguarding civil peace, confronting the consequences of the current stage, accelerating reconstruction, and ensuring the return of residents to their villages and towns, alongside ways to address the economic, social, and livelihood crisis.
The two movements issued a statement outlining five key points:
First: National partnership and shared coexistence are a fundamental basis for protecting Lebanon. Any political approach built on exclusion, elimination, domination, or imposing fait accompli is rejected. All disagreements must remain within the political and constitutional framework that preserves Lebanese interests and protects the state and its institutions.
Second: Civil peace is a red line and a shared national responsibility. All forms of incitement, division, and sedition are rejected. Disputes must be addressed through dialogue, understanding, and resorting to institutions — not through escalation and tension that threaten civil peace and add to the burdens of the Lebanese people.
Third: The government must fully assume its responsibilities by activating its institutions and apparatuses, fulfilling its duties toward citizens, seriously working to resolve economic, social, and livelihood crises, and placing vital files on the path to practical resolution — strengthening Lebanon's ability to confront the tasks ahead.
Fourth: Reconstruction, compensating those affected, and ensuring the return of residents to their villages and towns are not deferred or neglected files, but a national priority and a responsibility that must be accelerated. This requires mobilizing official and popular capabilities, activating the state's role, and utilizing all available Arab and international support to ensure people remain on their land and life returns to affected areas.
Fifth: All political forces are urged to approach this stage with high national responsibility, avoid narrow calculations and approaches that deepen division, and multiply communication and coordination channels — because Lebanon cannot tolerate further paralysis or tension and needs understanding, constructive work, and concerted efforts more than ever.
The two movements stressed that overcoming the current stage requires a comprehensive political will, prioritizing national interests, and moving from crisis management to addressing root causes — opening the way for a new phase: protecting Lebanon, reconstruction, the return of residents, and the establishment of the state and its institutions.
